How to make me smile

Receive box from Kona, Hawaii with the following logo...

Peek inside to see it's from Linda's Place of Hawaii flower farm

Carefully unwrap each beautiful tropical stem that was hand picked just for me and remember the days when I would get these at the office and all of the ladies would gather around oohing and ahhing at each flower like it was Christmas.

Lay out the items needed to make a kick ass Hawaiian bouquet and thinking back to being at the Kona Farmers Market a few months back and how cheap you could get them there.

Assemble the perfect gift of aloha from my wonderful husband...who knows exactly how to make me smile.

What makes you smile?

  1. I'm with you - LOVE the flowers! That bouquet is gorgeous. What a special Mr. you have there. Last time I got flowers, I said to my husband "What did you do?" :-)

  6. What beautiful flowers! and how thoughtful to have them sent to you this way instead of pre-assembled. I have a suspicion that half the fun for you was putting them together exactly the way you wanted them.

  7. What an incredibly thoughtful, fantastic gift! Just what you need to put the smile back on your face. What a great idea that you get to assemble it yourself. Great job arranging them, you're so crafty! :)

  10. So nice!!! Love how you guys take care of each other!!

I'm still too tired, but what's making me smile this morning was hearing Dino come on during my shuffle this morning singing "Ain't that a Kick in the Head". :-) Definite smile throughout!!

  11. Oh, what a sweetie the Mr. is! The flowers are just gorgeous, and you have the touch for arranging them, for sure. My honey brought home flowers last night, just because. They weren't as exotic, and I don't have the knack for arrangement, but I'm pretty sure my guy's heart was in the same sweet place as your guy's, and that's what makes me smile.

  12. Those flowers are gorgeous & you're pretty good at arranging them too--my arrangements always look like crap! ;) I'm glad you had a reason to smile this week. It's nice to have a partner who knows what to do when you're feeling down!

  14. SO pretty! Bonus points to the Mr!! What makes me smile? Lots of things, but a kind word from just about anyone can pretty much do the trick. ESPECIALLY the Hubs, because he isn't big on romantic gestures or saying the right thing. ;)

    1. Yes, big bonus points. Isn't it funny how far a simple kind word can go?

  15. I got nothin' that tops THAT... how BEAUTIFUL!!!!

The best I can manage today is chasing the fat little Jack Russel terrier lost in the street, hoping to catch him before he gets hit by a car (we live on an insanely busy intersection)... so far he remains defiantly 'at large'! Darn is he funny, cute and FAST, LOL!

  16. Cool...and romantic!

Anything involving kitties makes me smile.

I once lived in a house in Mesa, AZ that had humongous bird of paradise growing in the gravel front yard along our windows....just gorgeous. I thought they were tropical but they loved and thrived in that Arizona heat. And the red ones (don't remember their name) were in my sister's bridal bouquet many moons and 2 husbands ago (I was a bridesmaid). I remember thinking they were interesting, but ugly, and not flowers...I was young and dumb....my sister has a degree in horticulture and picked them out of all the flowers in the world for the wedding I'm sure the Mr. will smile!

  17. Glad the flowers arrived on time. I wish I could have been there with you when you got them but at least I am back home now and can enjoy them with you. I am also glad that you got a chance to share them with everyone!
